An official Sorig Khang London training course - now open for admissions
The Root Tantra (rTsa rGyud) is the foundational textbook for the entire course of Tibetan Medical studies. Codified in the 12th century by Yuthok Yönten Gönpo and his followers, this profound text covers a wide range of medical theory in a pithy and precise manner. According to tradition, students of exceptional capacity need only to study the Root Tantra to cultivate a grounded understanding of the Science of Healing.
In this official Sorig Khang International course, Sowa Rigpa practitioner and teacher Erik Jampa Andersson will guide participants through the entire Root Tantra, utilizing both root texts and commentaries, to come to a well-rounded understanding of Tibetan medical practice.
Completion of this course is prerequisite for all intermediate and advanced classes in Tibetan Medicine with Sorig Khang London, and those who have successfully passed this course are permitted to continue their studies with SKẎ teachers across the globe.
In this six-week course, we will cover the following information:
The history and development of Tibetan Medicine, drawing upon traditional and modern scholarly sources to outline the evolution of Sowa Rigpa over thousands of years
The basic elemental theory of Tibetan Medicine and Inner Science
Typological constitution and the functions of the three humours
The basis of health and disease
