Traditional Tibetan Medicine, or Sowa Rigpa (the Science of Healing), is likely the world’s oldest unbroken medical lineage, with roots reaching back into ancient pre-Buddhist Tibet and diverse classical Eurasian healing traditions. The modern model of Tibetan Medicine has its foundations in the teachings of Yuthok Yönten Gönpo, the great 12th century yogi-physician, though perpetual developments and modernizations over the centuries have produced a uniquely robust and comprehensive healing system.

Tibetan Medicine is a remarkably sophisticated healing science, intricately weaving the highly potent Himalayan materia medica with traditional diagnostics, nutrition, and personalized typology. It is a truly holistic medical discipline, seeking to identify the physiological, psychological, and energetic causes of disease, without falling into the conventional traps of fad-based alternative therapies. With over a thousand years of research and refinement, Sowa Rigpa offers one of the most efficacious healing modalities found in the world today.
