Monthly Guru Day Puja (Yuthok Nyingthig Ganapuja)

Join Sorig Khang London and our international Yuthok community for this monthly online Guru Day puja. We will join together from across the world to celebrate the 10th lunar day with the Yuthok Nyingthig Ganapuja. This practise is the central Tsok ritual in Yuthok’s tradition, and is a beautiful practise for observing this important feast day in tantric Buddhism.

Tsok (ཚོགས་) is one of the oldest tantric Buddhist rituals, designed as an opportunity for sanghas to join together to share in sacramental offerings, repair samaya breakages, generate merit through generosity, and strengthen the bonds of our vajra family. For those who have received tantric empowerments, performing regular Tsok on the 10th and 25th lunar days (Guru and Dakini day) is considered to be a fundamental lifelong commitment. While we cannot all be together at this time, we can still join together online from our own healing mandalas to share in this profound and beautiful ritual.

This group puja will take place every Guru Rinpoche Day (10th lunar day) at 7pm UK time (see below for an exact schedule). It’s recommended that practitioners are existing Yuthok Nyingthig practitioners who have received empowerment and are engaging in this cycle, though exceptions may be made for those who genuinely wish to begin practising in this lineage.

This group puja is free to join, but pre-registration is necessary. If you wish to make a dana offering, this can be sent using the form below, or by sending an offering via PayPal to erikjampa@shrimala.com.

Below are the dates for the first two months of the Metal Ox year. All sessions are held at 6pm UK time (18:00 GMT/13:00 EDT/11:00 MDT/10:00 PDT):

  • February 22nd

  • March 23rd

For those who wish to participate in the full Tsok offering, please prepare your own food and drink offerings as well as a serkyem (libation for the protectors) at home prior to logging on. There will be an opportunity to present a song, poem, or other offering for the group during the practise, though this is not mandatory.

We hope to see you soon!
